Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa showed his home team pride as he took the stage to kick off Sunday’s AFC Championship Game. The 23-year-old Hip-Hop newcomer performed his hit single “Black and Yellow” before the Pittsburgh Steelers took on the New York Jets at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA.
“Awesome, can’t even explain it,” Khalifa said of hitting the stage at the event. “I’ve always had that Pittsburgh pride. I just wanted to let people know where I’m from and represent any way I can, and what better way than through our colors? I took that hometown pride and put it in a song.”
The Jets ended up losing to the Steelers, 24 to 19, in the AFC title game. The Steelers will play against the NFC champs, the Green Bay Packers, on Sunday, February 6th during Super Bowl XLV.
