FYI: This list is in no particular order…

2007 is coming to a close, and we here at Think2wice thought it would be the perfect time to highlight some of the greatest moments, people, etc. of the past year! First up, is “Favorite Couples.” And you guessed it, Jay-Z and Beyonce are perched at the top of this list! These two cause a stir in the gossip blogs whenever their names are mentioned. It’s gotten to the point where we’ve given them one name … Jayonce. Despite both of their busy schedules, Jayonce still finds the time to spend time with each other, whether it be a sporting event, a week-long vacation, or just having dinner at one of NYC’s top restaurants. Recently, rumors sparked of the two being married after people spotted matching tattoos on their ring fingers (IV – “FOURever” ??), but those rumors were immediately shot down by one of Jay-Z’s reps. Who knows … they probably are married! Hell, didn’t Janet keep her marriage to that guy from the public for like 10 or more years? Anyhow, hate it or love it, Beyonce and Jay-Z are with each other for the long run, as long as they keep their relationship as private as it has been for the past 4 years.

According to YAHOO! News, a Chicago woman who snapped photos of R. Kelly in a courtroom with her cell phone has pleaded guilty to contempt of court after spending the weekend in jail. 49-year-old Jean Johnson was sentenced to five 5 days in jail after entering the plea Monday, but she was released after Judge Vincent Gaughan gave her credit for the days she had already spent in custody. Lucky for her, she had violated her probation and already had served a little time in the clinker. The judge also ordered her cell phone destroyed.

Describing herself as Kelly’s “biggest fan,” Johnson said she couldn’t resist snapping four grainy pictures of the R&B superstar as he sat across from her last Thursday. She said she didn’t realize cameras weren’t allowed in courtrooms.

“I feel stupid,” Johnson said. “I just got carried away. I’m a big fan of R. Kelly. I wanted it so that every time my phone rang, I could open it up and he’d be right there.”

Those damn camera phones are the devil, lol.

Trey Songz Gets Gully After an Audience Member Throws Ice at Him

First it was T.I., then Akon, some other people in between, and now Trey Songz. Mr. Trey Day himself has his very own online video of him attacking an audience member after something is thrown at him. The video above shows someone throwing ice at the R&B singer while performing “Wonder Woman” at a club, and Trey stops the music and takes his bodyguarad with him as he jumps into the crowd proceeding to beat the guy’s ass. Then he hops back on stage and continues the show with his new single “Can’t Help But Wait.” The next time I’m at an intimate concert I’m gonna throw something at the person on stage and see what happens!

2007 has not been good to Remy Ma. In addition to being charged with assault and attempted murder, the rapper has been slapped with a multi-million dollar lawsuit! In the suit, reportedly filed in a New York court on Friday, Makeda Barnes-Joseph accuses Remy Ma of “willfully, wantonly and maliciously” shooting her, and she’s suing her ex-friend for $10 million. The suit also names the rapper’s record companies, including Universal Music Group and Sure Shot Recordings, as defendants, alleging they encouraged Remy Ma to engage in violent behavior as part of her image.

Ivan Fisher, her lawyer, said Barnes-Joseph’s lawsuit was “looking for the deepest pocket it could find” and called it “irresponsible,” according to Reuters. Barnes-Joseph reportedly claims in the suit that she suffered severe physical harm and mental anguish after the July shooting, which took place on a New York street after a dispute over money ($2,000 to be exact) missing from the rapper’s belongings. Remy Ma fled the scene but later turned herself in and was charged on counts of attempted murder, assault and weapon possession. If convicted, Remy ma faces up to 25 years in prison. [ SOURCE: MTV ]

Yung Joc is a Fugitive

Atlanta rapper Yung Joc failed to appear at an arraignment hearing in Cleveland this morning and as an unfortunate result, has had his bond raised to $100,000. According to the Associated Press, Joc (real name Jasiel Robinson) was a no-show at the Cuyahoga County courthouse, where he was expected to answer to charges of carrying a concealed weapon.

Stanley Jackson Jr., Joc’s attorney, told the court that his client was busy with family and personal obligations. Cuyahoga County assistant prosecutor Gayle Williams is expected to ask the court to issue an arrest warrant for the rapper. Municipal Judge Michael John Ryan advised Jackson that his client must appear in court and doubled the rapper’s bond from the previous amount of $50,000.

He better get his ass to court ASAP! Weapons charges are no joke … ask T.I.

When you’re on house arrest with a “3 adult limitation” in place (he’s only allowed to have 3 adults in his home – not including himself – at one time), you have a lot of free time to do a lot of things. Like decorating 3 Christmas trees, putting together your kids’ gifts with your own two hands, and wishing your fans a Merry Christmas through youtube. You’d think that the drama surrounding T.I. would keep him down, but based on what I saw in the video, that’s definitely not the case. Among other things, T.I. thanks everyone for their prayers and tells his fans not to worry about him. Oh yeah, and no one who wasn’t built for Grand Hustle is not leaving the popular, contrary to the rumors that are circulating the web.

“I’m Grown” will be Tiffany Evans’ second single from her eponymous debut album that is set to release around the first quarter. The song was produced by Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins and features Bow Wow. This is basically about taking people for granted (but can go in any perception, really) and my favourite song as of now. Jay-Z Steps Down as President of Def Jam

Beginning January 1, 2008, Jay-Z will no longer be the president of Def Jam records. Jay-Z made the announcement yesterday with Def Jam’s parent, Universal Music Group, as his employment contract was expiring. Under a separate long-term recording contract with Def Jam, Jay-Zstill owes the label at least one or two more albums.

“It’s time for me to take on new challenges,” he said in a statement. But with business interests that include several 40/40 nightclubs, an investment in the New Jersey Nets, and his Rocawear fashion line, he is already one of music’s most ambitious entrepreneurs. His next move is unclear, though there has been speculation that he might strike a deal with the concert giant Live Nation, which has been seeking stakes in artists’ various business lines beyond concerts.

Universal has not stated whether or not they will fill Jigga’s vacant spot anytime soon. The official statement from Jay-Z himself read:

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have served as President of such a culturally-defining label as Def Jam over the last three years. During that time, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many of the world’s most dynamic artists and many of the most dedicated and talented executives in the music business today, including Antonio “L.A.” Reid. But now it’s time for me to take on new challenges…

Just in time for us to begin our “end of the year” posts, Yung Joc is the proud recipient of our “Dumb Ass of the Year!” award. Home boy attempted to take a loaded gun onto a Delta Air Lines flight, and was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. 27-year-old Jasiel Robinson (Yung Joc) was arrested about 6:20 A.M. Sunday at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport before boarding, police spokesman Lt. Thomas Stacho said.

Police found a semiautomatic handgun and ammunition in his carry-on bag, and he told them he did not know the weapon was there, Stacho said. Robinson was attempting to go through a standard security checkpoint when he was stopped and questioned, then arrested without incident, said Fred Szabo, airport commissioner. Robinson was freed this morning on $50,000 bond after he was formally charged with the felony. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

“Yung Joc maintains his innocence. He would appreciate privacy as he addresses these allegations,” said Stanley Jackson Jr., his lawyer.

Stupid ass! I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt (since it’s Christmas) and believe his little story that “he didn’t know it was there.” But never-the-less … stupid ass!

Uh-oh, are we gonna have to schedule a trip to Maury? The latest rumor in the “Spearsgate” saga is that rapper Romeo could be the father of Jamie Lynn Spears’ baby. Crazy, huh? Word is going around is that Jamie Lynn may have been carrying on a secret relationship with rapper, and according to the New York Daily News, the two have been dating for some time.

Poor child. First off, she’s a pregnant teenage celebrity. Now there’s a chance that she doesn’t even know who the father of her child is! What’s really goin’ on in this crazed world we live in?

R Kelly Trial Date Set … Again

After years, and years … and years of delays and setbacks, R Kelly’s trial date has been set for May 9, 2008. The trial had previously been scheduled for September 17, 2007 but was postponed early that month because the lead prosecutor had recently given birth.

Kelly also avoided having his bond revoked Friday morning. According to MTV News, Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan had threatened to do so after scolding the singer for missing a hearing on Wednesday after his tour bus was stopped in Utah for a speeding infraction. An arrest warrant had been issued for the R&B singer, who avoided going to jail when he showed for a 9 A.M. court date on Thursday, but Gaughan threatened to revoke the bond anyway. Such a lucky guy.

Also on Friday, Gaughan considered forcing Kelly to call off his U.S. tour but didn’t follow through with the punishment. Gaughan said he decided on leniency because of the “unintended consequences” of canceling such an event, including disappointing fans and a loss of income for venue workers. This dude must be giving Lady Luck “the business!”

I wonder what’s gonna happen when May hits. I’ve already accepted the fact that this fool isn’t gonna see any jail time anytime soon, but you never know. Your thoughts?

So far he hasn’t disappointed me with all this new material coming my way, one song in particular, “Stuck In Traffic,” I loved. MTV News has obtained a federal complaint filed on behalf of former Pretty Ricky member Pleasure by his attorneys Robert Meloni and Steve Schwartz.

In the complaint, the R&B singer (born Marcus Cooper), alleges a number of wrongdoings against Joseph “Blue” Smith and Bluestar Entertainment, the company Pretty Ricky is signed to in a deal with Atlantic Records. The group’s management and booking company, International Artist Agency, is also named in the suit.

According to Pleasure, Smith deceived the singer by first acting as a surrogate father to him and also serving in roles that were conflicts of interest for Pleasure and the group, including acting as a personal manager, business manager, booking agent, record exec and music publisher. The suit alleges that Smith “exploited conflict of interests in the competing roles he occupied in Cooper’s life.”

International Artist Agency, headed by Stephen Brush, is alleged to have abetted a number of Smith’s practices, according to the complaint.

Pleasure, according to the information filed earlier this week, is seeking a release from his contract with Bluestar and back pay owed to him. The suit claims that the former Pretty Ricky star has not been properly compensated for his contributions to the group, whose two albums have both been certified gold (500,000 Units sold).

The suit also alleges that Smith used physical intimidation. According to the complaint, when Pleasure began to distance himself from the group and sought out the friendship of others, in one instance, Smith attacked a friend of the singer’s as a means of coercion.

Pleasure first raised eyebrows earlier this year on the red carpet at the BET Hip Hop Awards, when he announced he was leaving the successful act. The group’s only singer told the media he would be pursuing a solo career instead.
