Singer Toni Braxton, who has been headlining her live show “Toni Braxton: Revealed” five days a week at the Flamingo in Las Vegas since 2006, was admitted to a hospital for chest pains Monday night, reports People. She was released Tuesday afternoon.
The spokeswoman for the American Heart Association has spoken in public about her heart condition, pericarditis – an inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart, and her being diagnosed with hypertension.
Don Marrandino, president of Flamingo Las Vegas had the following to say:
“We wish Toni a quick recovery and would like her to take the time she needs to regain optimal health. We are looking forward to her return at the end of the week.”

According to recent rumors, Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s wedding was apparently a big ol’ cover-up for Beyonce’s alleged pregnancy! I’m sure you all remember how the Knowles’ forced their daughter Solange to get married a few years ago, to save face of course, when they discovered she was pregnant. I tell ya … if ain’t one rumor, it’s another!
What makes this rumor almost bogus is that the only reasoning behind it is because the two, and their friends and respective families, kept the whole thing a secret. Well honestly if I were in either Beyonce’s or Jay’s shoes, I would have done the same thing. Everybody is already in their business as it is. You see how quickly everyone found out about Friday’s wedding, and no one was intentionally told. Just imagine how it would have went down if they had announced to the world!
But if Beyonce is indeed pregnant, congratulations. But I’ve been a fan of hers for years, so I already know not to expect an official word from anyone in her camp, or even Jay’s for that matter. Hell, they’ve been married for almost a week now and neither of their publicists have spoken up.
One thing about a pregnancy though. Time will eventually tell…

Diddy, CEO of Bad Boy Records, officially introduced one of the latest members of the family, Janelle Monae, to music industry insiders with a showcase in New York City Thursday night (Apr. 3rd).
“I’ve been blessed with artists like Jodeci, Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige in the past, but this artist right here … you’ve just got to see it to believe it. I don’t know if you ever felt the Holy Ghost, but that’s the only feeling you’re going to feel tonight,” Diddy said as he introduced Janelle Monae. “This is possibly the most important signing of my career,” Combs continued. “I thank God for blessing me with an artist like Janelle Monae. Now, are y’all ready to go to church?”

The weekend has come and gone, and no media outlets are reporting that they have received statements from publicists of neither Beyonce nor Jay-Z. But Mary J. Blige, who is currently on tour with Jay, couldn’t hold it in at the Greensboro, NC concert Saturday night, reports People.
“Congratulations to my man, Jay-Z, and my girl B,” the singer said before starting her set.
So yeah, to all of the doubters and nay-sayers, the wedding really did happen.
HERE I STAND DUE IN MAY INSTEAD OF JUNE » In an industry where setbacks are about as natural as Naomi Campbell losing her mind, it’s rare that you find that an album has been pushed up a few weeks. Originally slated for a June 2008 release, Usher‘s Here I Stand album has been pushed up to May 27th, reports Billboard.
The video for the album’s first single, In This Club, has already been shot and is set to premiere on Monday, April 7th. A 30-second clip of the video has been making its rounds across the web over the past week. The actual single, produced by hitmaker Polow Da Don, is currently sitting pretty at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is another rarity, seeing as there has been no hardcore promotion and no accompanying video. He can have every radio station in these here United States to thank for that, seeing as it appears as though that’s the only song they have on constant rotation.
After 6 years and dozens and dozens of wedding rumors, People is reporting that 38-year-old rapper Jay-Z and 26-year-old singer Beyonce finally tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony last night in NYC. The two said their vows at Jay-Z’s penthouse suite in front of close friends and family members.
Though there is no official confirmation, the friend says, “It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family.” The ceremony was followed by a lavish party at the rapper’s Tribeca apartment that drew Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, her Destiny’s Child mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the couple’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow.
The wedding buzz began when the couple went to get a marriage license at a village hall in Scarsdale, N.Y., on Tuesday. DJ Cassidy, a favorite of Jay-Z, was hired to spin. “Cassidy mentioned a week ago that he was really excited for the Jay Z and Beyoncé’s wedding party to happen,” says the friend. Early Friday morning, workers erected a white tent atop the building in Tribeca, where Jay-Z owns a penthouse apartment. Not long after, an SUV carrying what seemed to be AV equipment arrived, followed by deliveries of party rentals and flowers.
A source tells PEOPLE that Amy’s Orchids was hired to provide 50,000 to 60,000 white orchid blooms from Thailand for a “big party.” At the apartment, waiters were seen practicing their service.
Congratulations Beyonce and Jay-Z! I knew this rumor would turn out to be 100% true, especially after People reported about them getting their marriage license.
