Grammy-nominated singer Jazmine Sullivan will begin shooting her very first film role this April, reports Billboard!
Sullivan is looking forward to conquering another world this year — acting. In April she’ll fly to Prague to start shooting “Red Tails,” director Anthony Hemingway’s Tuskegee Airmen story. “I play a singer who entertains soldiers,” reports Sullivan, who will appear alongside current touring partner Ne-Yo. “I’m really just entertainment for them, but I kind of get a little relationship going with one of them. So that’s very exciting.
“I used to act when I was younger, in little plays,” adds Sullivan, who attended Philadelphia’s Creative and Performing Arts high school. “It never was really a passion of mine. It’s just something I did and I could do. Anything where I can be creative, I like to do.”
If she can act even half as good as she sings, then we’re definitely anticipating this new role. Jazmine’s Sullivan is JUST starting y’all and it’s about damn time real talent gets a chance to shine in this overly saturated industry. How do you feel about Jazmine Sullivan and her new movie gig?
Remember that Ciara song featuring Chris Brown that we posted earlier this month? Well, Ciara stopped by BET’s 106 & Park yesterday and told hosts Terrence J and Rocsi that the song hasn’t been omitted from the album, but it will sound a little differently.
“‘Turntables’ will be on the album,” Ciara said to Terrence and Rocsi. “Now you may hear it a little bit differently than what you’ve heard it, but in a cool way.”
No word on whether or not Chris Brown will be replaced on the track. With pending court dates and everything else going on with him, it will be pretty hard for the two to actually record a video and promote the song properly if the label decides to make it a single.
Here’s “Flight School,” a brand new track from Kanye West and T-Pain. It feels good hearing Kanye actually rap again. You can only appreciate 808’s and Heartbreak a few times and after that everything begins to sound redundant. We’re definitely looking forward to a new album from Ye though. Ne-Yo, who has worked with both Chris Brown and Rihanna in the past, recently spoke with MTV News and gave them his take on the crazy Chris Brown/Rihanna situation. The popular songwriter said that he talked to Rihanna personally because he wanted the information straight from the source instead of taking the word of third parties.
“I wanted to talk to them before I made a comment,” he said. “I spoke to Rihanna. She says she’s fine. She didn’t go into detail about what happened. I understand it’s a painful situation; I didn’t push.”
Your boy Charles Barkley went to court in Arizona yesterday and plead guilty to 2 counts of driving under the influence and running a stop sign for that incident in Scottsdale, Arizona back in December 2008. Phoenix official say the former NBA player will spend 10 days in jail.
Barkley, a television basketball analyst, will have five days off the sentence suspended upon his completion of a court-approved alcohol program, officials said. He also was ordered to attend traffic school and pay $2,000 in fines. The 46-year-old Hall of Fame player is expected to begin serving his sentence on March 21, according to court records.
Barkley was arrested on December 31 in Scottsdale with an blood alcohol content of 0.149, nearly double the amount allowed under Arizona law. He apologized for his behavior and returned to cable network TNT last week after a six-week leave of absence.

According to an announcement posted on Good Charlotte’s official website, rocker Joel Madden and his socialite girlfriend Nicole Richie are expecting a new baby!
“What’s better than winning an Oscar? I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister!” Madden wrote in the posting. “God has truly blessed my family. Hope you’re all feeling as good as I am right now.”
The couple welcomed daughter Harlow on January 11, 2008. Richie, 27, and Madden, 29, have been together since December 2006.

Everybody seems to have something to say about the situation going on between Chris Brown and Rihanna. If they’re not talking about the situation, they’re talking about the photo; if they’re not talking abou the photo, they’re talking about the situation. Our good friends over at Rap-Up chopped it up with Paul Wall recently, and this is what the Houston native had to say about the infamous Rihanna photo.
“I saw the picture and read all the blog comments. I’m like, ‘Damn, that’s just bad.’ I hope she’s alright,” the “Grillz” rapper tells Rap-Up.com. “I hate to get into other people’s business; whatever happened between them, that’s between them, but I just hope they both can come to a positive conclusion and that something positive can come out of it.”
The married father of one expressed his concern for the “Disturbia” singer and couples who struggle with domestic violence. “It’s just sad to see any kind of violence in a relationship. Being such young superstars, they have the world ahead of them both. I just hope that she’s alright. I didn’t see no marks on [Chris], so I’m pretty sure he’s alright.”
Paul Wall will release his third studio album, Fast Life, on May 12. He will shoot a video for the first single, “Bizzy Body,” on Wednesday in Houston, Texas.

Tyler Perry‘s latest film, Madea Goes to Jail, ended its opening weekend at the top of movie charts with $41 million in ticket sales making this Perry’s biggest movie release ever! Figures released Monday show that the number one movie in North America this weekend was Madea Goes to Jail, with Taken coming in at number 2 way behind Madea with only $11 million in ticket sales.
As expected, “Madea Goes to Jail” grabbed the top spot, though no one could have predicted the $41.1 million the comedy brought in. The last Madea outing, “Madea’s Family Reunion,” had an opening of $30 million this same weekend in 2006. Who wants to put bets on Perry’s next installment debuting at $50 million?

Solange Knowles was hospitalized last week for dehydration and low blood pressure — and these pictures were snapped as she lay passed out on the ground. Knowles went on to Twitter about how she thinks she took too much Nyquil and woke up surrounded by random people.
