Popeyes says their 24-karat gold chicken wings were a huge hit with customers.

On Thursday (Oct. 4), the popular restaurant chain celebrated a huge milestone—the opening of their 3,000 restaurant in Elizabeth, New Jersey back in August—by serving boneless chicken wings dipped in champagne and drenched in a 24-karat gold batter at four random Popeyes’ restaurants in New York City, New Orleans, Anaheim (California) and the new Elizabeth location.

The golden wings were only available for that day, and by 7 p.m., they had completely sold out of them at all four locations, as noted by a tweet from the company.

Popeyes said depending on consumer demand, they would consider bringing the 24k gold-battered dish to more locations in the future.
