Michael Jackson Thinks He’s Getting the Artist of the Millennium Award
Poor Michael. By the time the 2000s hit, his star had taken a severe beating after two child molestation accusations gone public, multiple plastic surgeries gone wrong and the mediocre performance of his 2001 album Invincible.
So you can understand how Michael might’ve gotten carried away at the 2002 VMAs when Britney Spears and MTV decided to wish him a happy birthday, and he instead went on to give a rambling speech for Artist of the Millennium.
An award that doesn’t exist. Whoops!
