DIDI LIMA ON WHY SHE THINKS HISPANICS SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA »
“We don’t want (Hispanics) to become the new African-American community,” Lima the Hispanic community liaison for Republican John McCain’s presidential campaign told The Associated Press. “And that’s what the Democratic Party is going to do to them, create more programs and give them handouts, food stamps and checks for this and checks for that. We don’t want that.”
“I’m very much afraid that the Democratic Party is going to do the same thing that they did with the African-American culture and make them all dependent on the government and we don’t want that,” she said.
Let’s take a short moment out of our daily gossip reports to talk about something that effects nearly 60% of the readers who visit GOT daily. Congress is currently debating a decision to bail out struggling Wall Street banks. This decision will cost Americans $700 billion. Republicans and liberal Democrats are for it, saying that this bail-out will “help keep the crisis in our financial system from spreading throughout our economy.” Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke also supports the bailout bill, stating that, “this legislation should help to restore the flow of credit to households and businesses that is essential for economic growth and job creation, while at the same time affording strong and necessary protections for taxpayers,” he said in a statement.
But will this really help? Is this a short-term fix that will possibly blow up in the face of our future president later on down the road? Are they just patching up the problem temporarily? Should we, as Americans, write the government a check for $700 billion to fix mistakes caused by 8 years of the George W. Bush administration?

According to our demographics, 35% of GOT’s readers are between the ages of 18 and 34. If you are a legal United States citizen, then there is no reason (or excuse for that matter) for you not to be registered to vote. You have up until this Saturday (October 4th 2008) to get off of your lazy behind and register! If you visit www.VOTEFORCHANGE.COM all you do is fill out a simple form online and they register for you! This takes all of what … 3 minutes? (depending on the speed of your computer). So what the hell are you waiting on? If Obama doesn’t get into office because of the 55 million Americans not registered to vote, then we don’t deserve to have him as our president. And that’s the truth.
Oh, and by the way, if you turn 18 on or before November 4th, then you are still eligible to vote in this year’s election. So if you are currently 17 years old and your 18th birthday isn’t until November 4th 2008, then you can still register NOW (even before you actually turn 18). SO DO IT!!
Senator PRESIDENT Obama and that old dude they call “John McCain” participated in a debate last night in Mississipi. If you’re living on planet earth right now, you’d know that the U.S. is currently struggling financially, and when Obama begins his 8-year term (yes, he will get re-elected … no doubt about that) on January 20th 2009, it is going to be up to him to fix all of this. And after watching last night’s debate, I sincerely believe that between him and McCain, he’s most definitely the man for the job. The two of them also weighed in on issues regarding foreign policy, foreign oil dependence, and more. If you didn’t get a chance to catch the debate last night, then there’s absolutely no excuse for you to not be able to catch the full videos somewhere online. I even did the looking for you :) Click here!
