Jewel is officially a mommy now!
The singer and her husband, professional bull rider Ty Murray, welcomed a son named Kase Townes Murray into the world Monday night (Jul 11) in Texas, their rep revealed to People exclusively.
“Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world,” Jewel tells PEOPLE. “We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!”
The 36-year-old Grammy-nominated singer had struggled to conceive in the past, and was hit by a fire track back in March when she was only 5 months pregnant. Thankfully, she and her unborn baby were unharmed and she was quickly released from the hospital.
Jewel and Ty will celebrate their 3rd wedding anniversary in August of this year.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker opens up about her family life and what it’s like raising young twins (born via surrogate mother) at 46 years old in her cover story for the August 2011 issue of Vogue Magazine.
Although SJP and her husband Matthew Broderick have a nanny to help take care of their twins Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, the couple refuse to have someone else raise their kids, including 8-year-old son James Wilkie.
“We don’t have any live-in help. We’re pretty hands-on parents. That’s something that’s important to both of us, and we don’t shirk it, because what’s the point in having a family if you’re not going to really participate in it, you know?”
In the article, SJP also describes which parent the twins are looking like more and more everyday.

“My Moment,” an autobiographical highlight of Black’s life before and after her instant fame, will feature video footage from “a variety of real life events,” according to the press release.

According to new reports, scientists in Japan have discovered a “suberbug” strain of gonorrhea that is immune to current forms of treatment. This new suberbug is called “H041” and has evolved to a point where previous forms of antibiotic medicines have ZERO effect on it whatsoever. Scary.
This new generation of gonorrhea has been labeled a suberbug because it resists antibiotic treatment, and if one cannot be found to kill the bug, then it may pose a serious health threat.

Lady Gaga made a random appearance last night (Mon. Jul 11) at Club Nevermind in Sydney, Australia.
The singer, who is in Sydney for a one-off performance at the Sydney Town Hall later this week, teased her Twitter followers earlier in the day by hinting at her appearance at the popular Australian gay club.

Andre 3000 is said to be in talks to portray rock legend Jimi Hendrix in an independently-made biopic about his life.
“Next up is possibly a Jimi Hendrix biopic — an independent film with Andre 3000 from OutKast playing Jimi Hendrix,” Actress Hayley Atwell told Esquire magazine. “But I don’t know, really. The Atwell team is like, Let’s just wait and see.”
People do really crazy things when they get drunk. Take this guy for example. He was arrested last week (on the evening of the Fourth of July) after he caught a DUI charge.
Apparently, 42-year-old David James Herzog was 100% convinced he could pass a DUI test after eating two chickens, six wings, two racks of ribs and a cheeseburger. (No really, this is what he told police!)
But Herzog didn’t pass the test. And not only that, but after cops pulled him over (following a woman calling 911 and telling them a “fat ass cracka” was “trying to buy dope”), they discovered that he was in the middle of getting a “sexual favor.”

Pregnant actress Jessica Alba is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Allure Magazine. Inside the publication’s August 2011 issue, Alba, who is expected to give birth this fall, opens up about her views of the female form.
“I can’t ever get down to the weight I was before I had Honor. My body’s just different,” she says. “The jeans just sort of zip up differently, and things hang differently. It’s a miracle what happens, but you definitely are different afterwards. Unless you’re Gisele [Bundchen].”
