USHER AND TOM-EKA ARE GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEKEND? … OH, JOY! » ((Sigh)) I used to be a big Usher fan, but … I dunno. I mean the way he’s treating my girl ERIKA is just wrong. We were just talking about it the other day. I’m so glad she’s holding on to the site. Not for him, but for his fans. Anyhow, there’s a rumor circulating that Usher and Tameka Foster are making moves to get hitched this weekend. I’ve been hearing Friday, and I’ve also been hearing Saturday. So I really don’t know, and if you really wanna know the truth … I could care less :-\ But I figured y’all would, so there it is! The rest of the today’s rundown can be found … well, you know where it is! LOL
Video Premiere: Kevin Michael F/ Wyclef Jean – “It Don’t Make Any Difference To Me (One Love)”
Okay. I recently got into this guy, Kevin Michael, after first peepin him on HIP AND POP with his critically acclaimed iTunes single “We All Want The Same Thing”; which later featured ya boy Lupe Fiasco. With Kevin’s music being both inspiring and phenomenally refreshing he also breaks down racial barriers in today’s society. Especially with this joint right here, “It Don’t Make Any Difference To Me (One Love),” although I really like the Acoustic version (the song + video) featuring Akil Dasan better – this one featuring Wycelf Jean isn’t so bad! But yeah, you really have to get into his music, you have no idea how much he has inspired me. I expect big things for this young man, I wish you all the best Kevin!

Fabolous and Ne-Yo Hit Up BET’s 106 & Park
“First thing’s first, I does what I do!” LOL I love that song. Fabolous and Ne-Yo dropped by 106 and Park the other day and performed their song “Make Me Better” on the brand new 106 and park stage. Ne-Yo also performed his solo single “Do You” and Charlie Murphy was their to promote BET’s Hot Ghetto Mess WE GOT TO DO BETTER (if you didn’t know, they changed the name), which I must add is making headline news JUST ABOUT DAMN NEAR EVERYWHERE! Anyhow, check out more flicks of Ne-Yo & Fabolous after the cut! And since we missed out on the other celebs who dropped by 106, you can check flicks of them on the show as well!
Hope You’re Not on the Lookout for a Fugees Album!
Looks like our girl Lauryn Hill has messed it up for a Fugees reunion. Their performance at the 2005 BET Awards had me all hyped up and everything! I still bump to “Killing Me Softly” every now and then. But this is what Pras told to BILLBOARD:
“We went in the studio and recorded a couple records that were incredible. But, to put it nicely, it’s dead,” says Pras. “Me and Clef, we on the same page, but Lauryn [Hill] is in her zone, and I’m fed up with that sh*t. Here she is, blessed with a gift, with the opportunity to rock and give and she’s running on some b*llshit? I’m a fan of Lauryn’s but I can’t respect that.”
Video Premiere?? Ja Rule F/ Lil’ Wayne – “Uh Oh”
Hmm, is it or just me, does this video seem like it leaked at the right time? I mean really, it’s not even the real thing. It still has those director’s numbers on it. If you watch DVD extras and deleted like me you know what I’m talking about LOL. I guess it was a smart move on the PR’s part because they did generate a little buz on Ja and Wayne’s side. Smart move guys! Now will this all hold up to stand the test of time, and will Ja Rule make the comeback that he wants? We’ll just have to wait … and see! Check out the “premiere” of Ja Rule’s new video feat. the King of Features, Lil Wayne – “Uh Oh.”

Weekend Update: The Original Dreamgirls Musical Hits Atlanta, So So Def Celebrity Basketball Game, and Will Smith on the Set of New Movie
FRIDAY, JULY 20TH 2007 » The original Dreamgirls musical recently celebrated their 25th anniversary, and to celebrate the occasion a live performance was held at the famous Fox Theater in Atlanta. Jennifer Holliday, the original Effie White, performed in the show in addition to Cindy Herron-Braggs (Deena) and Kiara Bennett (Lorelle). The show was performed throughout the entire weekend, and the cast made their final bow last night. I’m glad they did this so Jennifer Holliday can finally go sit her bitter ass down somewhere LMAO. Y’all know she had to be the “last one” to play Effie!
MJ Would Be So Proud!
[youtube hMnk7lh9M3o]
It seems like everybody and their mama is biting off of Michael Jackson nowadays. Originally the list included male R&B artists. Now we can add a group of Filipino prisoners to said list. No, really … check out the video above! Who are these people you ask? Over 1,500 CPDRC inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines at practice! Yeah, you read it right. This NOT the final routine. They did a pretty damn good job if you ask me! My favorite part is the dude in the high heels with alopecia. Classic! My question is who the hell came up with this idea, and how long did it take to choreograph? LMAO
The Scream Tour ’07 Crew On 106
[youtube wk6b59iR0sQ]
A lot of people were asking about this video with Ciara on 106 & Park recently, I finally found the footage, so I decided to post it for you all! Let me elaborate a little on the video, Ciara, TIP, Young Jock & Lloyd sit down on the couch with Terrence J and Rocsi to talk about the one Scream tour I’m thinking about attending, Screamfest ’07. All the Scream tour boys leave, Terrence and Rocsi try and pull some answers out of C C as to why she was sitting by 50 Cent at the BET awards (are you dating?), why she was practically nekkid in a video with the rapper and what’s with “25”? I’ll go ahead and spoil one of questions, when asked is she in fact dating 50, Ciara just evasively replied, “we’re just friends” and smiled … suuuure Ciara! Oh, she also talks about modeling with Lady Rocawear – you can watch her “I Will Not Lose” interview/ ad after the cut!
New Artist: Blitz McBain
Blitz McBain, a 19 year-old out of downtown Manhattan, is best known for his multiple flows and creative side. With influences Jay-Z, Prince, and Kanye West, the man is not afraid to spark controversy. He first established a name in the New York hip-hop scene at the age of twelve when he involved himself in the music industry-related work of his uncle. With clever lines and street-ridden beats, Blitz consistently brings something fresh to the game. He focuses primarily on the music aspect of his career. “I have to stay clean,” he tells us in a downtown coffee shop. “I’m basing everything on what [my uncle] did wrong. He had an ego problem and a drinking problem. Liver problems prevented him from ever taking the spotlight as a major rapper.” The name Blitz, as you may already know, originates from the popular video game NFL Blitz. “When I used to fight, I would come with aggression. That’s how I got the name. And it stuck.” Blitz is now putting every second he has into his up-and-coming album, Look At Me Now. When asked his favorite song off the album, he replies, “My favorite song is ‘Comfort Me’. It takes place in the afterlife and how I think it’s gonna’ be once I die- like being an angel looking down on the world as somebody dies.”

Video Premiere: Rihanna – “Please Don’t Stop The Music”
Ugh, what happen to “Rehab”? Well, maybe this will go well with her R&B fans since they didn’t appreciate the latter “Shut Up And Drive” as much – go figure. I swear there’s an “Applause” sign in the studio cause the audience be clapping all late and shit.

New Beatz For The Freakz
CHRIS BROWN » SEAN KINGSTON » JO JO » R. KELLY
Chris Brown » “Let Me Take You Down” » LISTEN » (Snippet) » Now, before all you horny-ASS girls (and some guys) go crazy and jump me in the parking lot for this song – it is not the full version – merely a snippet. However, this snippet is considerably longer (1:41 to be exact) than the 15 second one floating around; it starts at the very beginning, goes through the hook and fades out approaching the second verse leaving more than enough time for you to soak it in. This should hold you over while I beg my friend DOMINQUE for the full, I ain’t too proud to beg.
Sean Kingston » “Got No Shorty” » LISTEN » (Full) » So far, I’m digging all the recent material from Sean Kingston. Here, he returns with a revised version of “Dracula’s Wedding” in my opinion; the track is very Andre3000esque to say the least … or maybe I’m just a crazed Outkast stalker. Sidenote: The Love Below=classic!
Common Makes an Appearance on TRL
Common recently dropped by MTV’s TRL to promote his new album “Finding Forever,” which releases on July 31st. Check out Mike’s review of the album HERE. MAKE SURE YOU PICK UP THAT ALBUM ON THE 31ST!!
50 Cent Make Up Your Damn Mind!
Good ol’ fiddy. What can we say about him? Well for one, on a few occasions in the past, 50 Cent could be quoted calling George “Dubya” Bush a “gangtsa” and saying that he’s like him in some ways. He even once was quoted saying things like: “I wanna…shake his hand and tell him how much of me I see in him.” Check out this article from a year ago.
ARTICLE FROM AUGUST 2006: Rapper 50 Cent compares himself to the U.S. president because they are both unpopular. The star is a massive fan of the Republican leader, who he calls his “homeboy.” He says, “You wanna know something? I actually like Bush. In some ways, I’m the George W. Bush of hip hop – nobody likes me, but I’m still gonna run it for the next four years.” But the rapper has no aspirations to emulate his hero. He adds, “I don’t need that kind of pressure. All I need is a sequel to my video game and a new hit single.”
Well, now the soon-to-be-flopping rapper is marching to the beat of a very different drum:
RECENT QUOTE FROM JULY 2007 “George Bush has a talent: he has less compassion than the average human,” Contact Music quoted 50 as saying. “By all means, I don’t aspire to be like George Bush,” he said.
ISN’T CURTIS THE MOST LOYAL PERSON YOU’VE EVER MET?
ALBUM REVIEW: Common – Finding Forever
Common is back with his seventh studio album, Finding Forever, set to release July 31st on GOOD Music. I recently had the pleasure of listening to the retail, the album features guest appearances from my favorite Neo-soul singer and jazz musician Bilal, R&B virtuoso D’Angelo, and of course the man that needs no introduction: Kanye West! Speaking of which, the album was 90 percent produced by him; it also features some great work from will.i.am, J Dilla, Devo Springsteen and Karriem Riggins. I really recommend this record for all those Hip-hop heads out there! Finding Forever was like an artistic voyage into the inevitable, commodious and beautifully arranged from it’s writers, features and especially producers. I really don’t want to give too much away, remember this is ART, I cannot waste art like that. Please go out and SUPPORT THIS BROTHER!, he is the reason that there is still hope! If you want to know my personal favorites they are “Black Maybe,” “So Far To Go,” and “Forever Begins”.
