A West Memphis woman is making news after she brutally beat up a 23-year-old mother laying in bed next to her 11-month-old baby.
Shatarvara Smith was arrested and charged with aggravated residential burglary, aggravated assault and second-degree battery following an incident that took place on Sunday.
According to Fox 13, Smith’s assault on the young mother was over a fight that occurred between the two women weeks prior at a nightclub.
Footage of the incident was posted on Facebook and it shows Smith running into the woman’s house and punching her repeatedly over and over again. The woman’s baby lies right next to her, helpless, as Smith continues to beat on her.

At least one other person is expected to be charged “in the coming days,” investigators told Fox 13.
