#3 — Angelina Jolie’s Right Leg

Angelina Jolie, that dress, and that right leg

I know. It sounds utterly ridiculous. But, for a limb that is incapable of speaking, that one leg had a whole lot of people talking!

At press time there were no pictures that had surfaced of the moment, but Twitter, Facebook and the rest of the internet have never had more to say about a right leg.

Angelina Jolie, dressed in a stunning, all-black Atelier Versace dress posed for cameras on the red carpet with her leg out all night.

When she came downstage to present the awards honoring screenwriters, Jolie took a pose not at all unlike the one in the photo above standing front and center.

The Oscar moment had everyone talking, prompting a buzz so fierce, the now world-famous right gam has its own (unofficial) Twitter account, @AngiesRightLeg, with thousands of followers to match.

#2 — ‘Best Supporting Actress’ Winner Octavia Spencer “freakin’ out!”

Octavia Spencer accepts her award for Best Supporting Actress at the 84th Annual Academy Awards

If you looked at her reaction alone, you would’ve never known that Octavia Spencer was the odds-on favorite to win “Best Supporting Actress.”

A clearly surprised Spencer took to the stage with genuine shock, disbelief, and elation. She was so excited that she broke into tears almost immediately when she stood to face a standing ovation from the crowd of her peers.

Spencer thanked her Alabama family, her Los Angeles family, and her “Help family.” When the light asking her to please wrap up lit up, Spencer raced through saying “I’m wrapping up, I’m sorry, I’m freakin out!”

Spencer joins the ranks of only five other black actresses to win an Academy Award, including Jennifer Hudson, Mo’Nique, Halle Berry, Whoopi Goldberg and Hattie McDaniel.
