Greetings from the White Pink House!
Most people commemorate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by simply wearing (or displaying) a pink ribbon…..but not the White House. For about 5 and a half hours, the White House turned into the “pink house” to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. President Barack Obama announced via Twitter Thursday evening (Oct 14) that he and his family’s historical home would be bathed in pink light beginning at 6:30 pm and lasting until about 11 pm that night.
October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month every year by public service groups, medial professionals and government agencies that combine efforts to promote awareness of the disease and raise money to find a potential cure.
