RUBEN STUDDARD MARRIES GIRLFRIEND » Ruben Studdard may be a “free agent” right now as far as his music career is concerned, but that didn’t stop the 29-year-old American Idol winner from tying the knot with fiancé Surata Zuri McCants. The couple exchanged vows in front of friends and family last Friday at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Studdard had 20 groomsmen by his side. The two met back in 2006 at a CD signing at a Wal-Mart in Atlanta. Struck by her beauty, the singer followed her to the toy aisle and proceeded to ask for her number.

Here is brand new music from Akon and Michael Jackson! ‘Hold My Hand‘, a chant-like tune which is signature for both Akon and Mike, features mild vocal harmonies layered over a whimsical piano ballad and hard beat. This collaboration is quite genius if you ask me, not to mention, you can’t go wrong with Akon or MJ on a track like this.

Young Jeezy will appear on the August 2008 issue of VIBE Magazine and known as the first ever real rap issue. In this issue Jeezy will talk about his upcoming album, The Recession, which is due in stores this August. He also discuss his relationship with Keyshia Cole and reaction to meeting Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Now this can be either be good or bad on both topics…I guess we’ll see. NEW YORK // MONDAY, JUNE 30TH 2008 » G-Unit stopped by MTV’s TRL yesterday to promote their album, T.O.S. (Terminate On Site) which is in stores now today on iTunes. Not sure if G-Unit will reconcile their differences with Young Buck but I know they now out casted him on the album as well as a featured artist (lol). Yung Berg also dropped by to spot his own album, Look What You Made Me, coming out August 12th.

PARIS, FRANCE // MONDAY, JUNE 30TH 2008 » Janet Jackson & Jermaine Dupri attended the ’09 Spring/Summer Haute Couture Fashion Show for Paris Fashion Week. Janet was looking “oh so good” in Paris! She talked a little bit about her upcoming lingerie line at the show:
“They’re classic [pieces],” Janet said. “There are some things that have a vintage feel to them.”

Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets); Carlos Boozer (Utah Jazz); Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors); Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers); Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic); LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers); Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks); Chris Paul (New Orleans Hornets); TayShaun Prince (Detroit Pistons); Michael Redd (Milwaukee Bucks); Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat); and Deron Williams (Utah Jazz) are all on USA Basketball Olympians this year. I’ve been waiting for this and I can’t wait til’ it starts! I hope we win it all this year! ESPN is even doing a five-part documentary series called “Road To Redemption presented by NIKE”. MIAMI, FLORIDA // SATURDAY, JUNE 28TH 2008 » On Saturday I had the opportunity to attend the “South Florida Summer Fest 2008†Concert featuring Birdman, DJ Khaled, Ace, Colby O’donis, Casley, Keyshia Cole, Akon, Lil’ Wayne and More live from The BankAtlantic Center. The show started at exactly 7:00 PM with opening acts Selena Serrano, S.O.U.R.C.E International Clique, Michelle Del Amore, Wyneter Gordon, and a bunch of local artists performing their radio hits like Grindmode’s “I’m so “High” and “Ecstasy“, Ball Greezy’s “Shoneâ€, Colby O’Donis’ “What you got“, and last but not least Casely (if you think Chris Brown, Usher and Ne-Yo imitate MJ alot, then you haven’t seen Casely live!) who performed really well, but WAY too long for an opening act, sang about 4 or 5 songs from his upcoming album 1985 including his radio hit “Emotional“.

NEW YORK // SUNDAY, JUNE 29TH 2008 » The Michael Strahan/Dreier Charity Golf Tournament Pre-Party went down last night to help benefit Children’s Rights & Keep A Child Alive Organizations. Many celebs came out to help show support for the two organizations. A lot of people we haven’t seen in awhile too. LaToya Luckett, Ja Rule, Spike Lee, Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, and more showed up to the event.

ENGLAND // SATURDAY, JUNE 28TH 2008 » Jay-Z and Amy Winehouse were the headliners for Day 2 of the 2008 Glastonbury Festival, an annual concert festival held every summer (except every 5th year) in England. There was a lot of controversy behind Jay-Z being a headlining act, since he’s a rapper, but apparently all of that got settled and I hear Jay-Z killed at the show!
American rapper Jay-Z answered his critics, notably Oasis’s Noel Gallagher, with a performance at Britain’s famous Glastonbury music festival that was received to rapturous cheers Saturday.
Striding on stage with a guitar slung over his shoulder, he led the crowd in a rendition of Oasis’s “Wonderwall”, smiling throughout, and with wife Beyonce Knowles in attendance, his set included songs such as “99 Problems”. [ READ MORE » ]
