T.I. Testifies in Court
Rapper T.I. testified in court Friday in Cincinnati, Ohio in Hosea Thomas’ murder trial. The man allegedly shot and killed the Atlanta rapper’s childhood friend and assistant, Philant Johnson, two years ago. The self-proclaimed “King of Atlanta” sat on the witness stand for approximately 40 minutes at Judge Ralph E. Winkler’s courtroom on the third floor of the Hamilton County Courthouse, explaining what went on the night of the May 2006 incident and denying allegations that he started the incident by “making it rain” at a Cincinnati club.
Though there were reports that the incident may have been sparked by hurt feelings from some local rappers when T.I. showered the crowd with money during Joc’s performance, T.I. denied that he tossed bills at the Ritz. “You see, you make it rain in strip clubs around beautiful women taking their clothes off, not in packed holes in the walls,” he said. “You don’t throw money in there. That’s not part of the celebration.”
At some point, T.I. described an altercation that broke out at the club when someone tried to get into the VIP section and began getting “irate” and “ornery” with venue security. The scuffle caught the attention of T.I.’s entourage, and as the heated discussion turned into a brawl involving 15-20 patrons, he said he tried to make sure his group was together as they made their way to the door.

MC Breed Dies of Kidney Failure
Michigan rapper MC Breed (real name: Eric Breed) lost a battle with kidney disease in Ypsilanti, Michigan Saturday at the age of 36. Carter McWright, owner of Music Planet and an associate of Breed’s, called Breed a “a musical legend of Flint.”
“One thing about Breed is he had that flow, that rhythm,” he said. “He knew how to flow with it.” Breed recorded 13 albums, including releasing one record per year between 1991 and 2001. His final album, “The New Prescription,” was released in 2004. His first album, “MC Breed & DFC,” was estimated to have sold 2.5 million to 4 million records. He had worked with the likes of the late Tupac Shakur and Warren G. “He was the first national rapper from Flint,” McWright said.
Breed moved to Atlanta several years ago, but made frequent trips to Flint, McWright said. McWright said Breed was always respectful and always made it a point to stick his head into McWright’s music store. “When he was 15 or 16 he would always come into the store and buy stuff,” he said. “We would always shoot the breeze.” McWright said friends and family have come into the store and reminisced about his life. Breed’s hit “Ain’t No Future in Yo’ Frontin'” talked about being yourself and not acting like someone you are not.

Usher’s Mom (Jonetta Patton) Accused of Scamming Limo Driver
When Jonetta Patton is managing the career of her successful R&B singer son, Usher, she’s apparently scamming limo drivers. Usher’s mom/manager is currently under investigation by Dekalb County Police after a freelance limo driver for her Atlanta-based transportation company, JCarr Transportation, filed a complaint alleging she cheated him out of a $1,668 paycheck.
Ms. Patton and her company are accused of scamming the limo driver while he worked for them during the BET Hip-Hop Awards, which were held in Atlanta back in October 2008. A representative for the company said the following to TMZ:
“The drivers were hired as independent contractors and are paid 30-45 days net when working on special events of the magnitude of the BET Hip Hop Awards that took place on Oct. 18th. They were hired at the recommendation of an employee who was recently terminated by JCarr and are disgruntled that their services are no longer being used by the company as a result of the unprofessional nature of the fired employee.”
Wow…
Taco Bell Sues 50 Cent!
Remember when 50 Cent sued Taco Bell for making him an “unauthorized spokesperson” for a new promotional campaign? Well, it looks like the’re counter-suing the rapper calling him “arrogant” How interesting…
Taco Bell shot down the rapper’s lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court, claiming they are protected by the First Amendment. The lawsuit calls the rapper a “self-described former drug dealer and hustler” who is “arrogant.”
“Jackson has used his colorful past to cultivate a public image of belligerence and arrogance and has a well-publicized track record of making threats, starting feuds and filing lawsuits,” Taco Bell lawyer Robert Lehrburger wrote in the lawsuit. “At the same time, Jackson holds himself out as a giver to charity and one who wants to give back to his community. This lawsuit is another of Jackson’s attempts to burnish his gangsta rapper persona by distorting beyond all recognition a bona fide, good faith offer that Taco Bell made to Jackson.”
50 Cent’s lawyer shot down the lawsuit in a statement to The New York Daily News. “It makes me wonder why they would decide to use his name in their ad campaign if they think he’s such a bad character,” Raymond told The Daily News.

It’s crazy how people abuse the justice system. Both of them (Taco Bell and Sh*tty Cent) need to go somewhere and sit their asses down.
Rihanna Explains her New Tattoo
PHOTO: GETTY IMAGES
People caught up with pop star Rihanna a few days ago at a charity event for UNICEF and asked her about her new wrist tattoo.
“It’s tribal,” she said at the charity’s annual Snowflake Lighting Ceremony in New York’s Grand Army Plaza. “It represents strength and love.” Rihanna also revealed that she got the exotic-looking tat while in New Zealand for a recent tour date.
“It’s their traditional way of tattooing,” she said of the Maori-inspired geometric design. “I always wanted [one].” But even for a tattoo enthusiast like Rihanna, this particular method had one big drawback: “It hurt like hell!”
Her “friend” Chris Brown has the same tattoo. And they both have stars on their necks … just so you know. But they’re just friends though, so it’s all good!
