Terrence Howard has been generating quite a bit controversy as of late. The actor has been accused, once again, of assaulting his ex-wife Michelle Ghent.

According to TMZ, the Oscar-winner reportedly reunited with Ghent for a Costa Rican getaway but the trip turned bitter and the two got into a massive argument. Ghent claims that the 44-year-old then beat her.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor commented on the situation and he certainly doesn’t seem to think he’s the bad guy.

“Unfortunately I’ve tried to help people and it’s not necessarily in the same enlightened path, of trying to help themselves,” he said.

“I just wish the best for her, but as far as me harming somebody… I really can’t harm a fly,” he continued. “It’s completely against my spirit, but I’m so heartbroken, that you can see that doing it on a night like this is only for an attempt to try and hurt me.”

While the actor could be genuinely telling the truth, he could also be in denial, as many abusers are. He has also claimed to have been maced by Ghent during the incident

It is rather odd, however, that Ghent decided to join “The Butler” star on vacation, considering she filed a restraining order against him in December 2011. At the time, she claimed that Howard began abusing her just a week into their marriage (they wed in January 2010).

Call me crazy but that doesn’t should like the kind of person, you’d want to take a trip with.

But it’s never cool to blame the victim … even an alleged victim.
