I’m not sure why this needed explaining, but Raven-Symoné is not getting married in the immediate future. Though her tweet expressed happiness over the ability to eventually get married one day, a bunch of us gays have conveyed similar sentiments on Twitter. Why did y’all think it was any different for her young ass?

But, for those confused, a rep did reach out to E! News to confirm that Raven-Symoné won’t be getting hitched in like…a week, writing in a statement: “Raven is not getting married. She was just supporting the fact that she heard on NPR that more states legalized gay marriage today.”
And Raven herself told E!: “I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to.”
I’m quite proud of her for opening this aspect of her life to the public. She owed no one an explanation about her sexual preference, but I can only imagine how many people are now inspired that “Olivia” is sliding up and down the rainbow.
