Looks like Prince Michael Jackson has his sights set on sharing much more with his famous father than just his name. Like the late Michael Jackson, Prince has officially been bitten by the entertainment bug and at just 16-years-old, has decided to pursue a career in show business.
The eldest of the Jackson clan is now a special correspondent for “Entertainment Tonight” where he will report live from various events, award shows and red carpets.
“[My father] raised me right,” Prince Michael replied when ET correspondent Brooke Anderson commented on his maturity.
He also talked about how he often watched films on mute with is father, in order to fully understand the movie-making process. Prince later added that he was interested in becoming “well-rounded as a producer, director, screenwriter and actor” and promised that this was just the beginning.
It’s no secret that Michael Jackson preferred his kids to have a normal childhood — the childhood he never had.
From birth to his untimely death, the late King of Pop always put their needs first by sheltering them from the public in order to provide his children with the best chance at a normal life. With that being said, one can’t help but wonder how Michael would have reacted to such news of his eldest’s latest accomplishment.
Would MJ have been happy to see Prince on television in such a prestigious role at such a young age? Or would he have rallied against it seeing through the network’s marketing ploy which is using Prince’s name and association to Michael to garner nothing more than ratings?
Who knows? Still, we wish Prince Michael the best at his new job and look forward to seeing him on TV. I respect Prince’s desire to earn his own keep!
