“Love & Hip Hop” New York star Mendeecees Harris, Yandy Smith’s fiance/baby daddy, was acquitted of multiple child sex charges in a New Jersey courtroom on Friday (Feb 8).

As we reported last month, Harris had been charged with sexual assault, child endangerment and promoting prostitution. He was accused of forcing a 15-year-old girl to watch porn with him, expose herself to him and perform oral sex on him back in 2009.

Harris took the stand in court Thursday, and denied the accusations in front of the judge, and his fiancee Yandy Smith, who was also in the courtroom. “I never committed none of them acts to that girl in my life,” he told the court.

Had he been convicted of these charges, he could have been put behind bars for decades, TMZ reported. His attorney released a statement after the acquittal, saying, “My client and his family are jubilant that these charges are now behind him … This is real drama, not TV.”

But this is just one case Harris can say is closed, as he is facing serious drug charges in New York, where he is currently awaiting another trial. In that case, he is among three men accused of trafficking at least $2.5 million worth of heroin and cocaine between 2005 and August 2012.

According to TMZ, Harris was charged with conspiracy to distribute 5 kilos of cocaine, and could face upwards of 5 years in prison if he’s convicted.

No word on whether or not any of this will play out on any upcoming episodes of LHHNY.
