Katie Holmes strikes a sexy and confident pose on the cover of the August 2012 issue of Elle Magazine, where the actress surprisingly (but not really…) drops several hints about her divorce from Tom Cruise.
Responding to a question about her husband, Holmes told Elle:
“He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years. I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”
She also said that now at 33 years old:
“I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase.”
When asked whether being married to Tom Cruise helped or hurt her acting career, Katie added:
“Things are not handed to anyone. If anything, you work a little bit harder when you’re in such visible circumstances.”
This particular interview was done about six weeks before Katie Holmes announced that she no longer wanted to be married to Tom Cruise, her husband of the past five years, and the father of her daughter Suri.

Sources close to the magazine told The NY Post, “Katie didn’t speak about Tom in a lovey-dovey way at all. She deflected the Tom questions and brought them around to herself.”
