A math teacher has admitted having sex with a 17-year-old student in her car – and claims she’s pregnant with his twins, police say.
Rene Frank, 27, cried in court yesterday as she was charged with sexual assault against the unnamed boy, a former pupil at Charles Drew High School, Georgia.
According to police another student claims to have slept with her too, an accusation Frank denies.
She is the latest in a long line of young female teachers to be arrested or charged over sexual relationships with male students this school year.
Frank was working as a substitute teacher at the high school in Riverdale when the relationship allegedly began in March.
The boy’s father told police he asked Frank to give his son a lift to class in the morning, and officers claim the pair soon began having sex in Frank’s car off-campus.
The allegations only came to light when the boy told another member of staff he was having a sexual relationship with Frank, and the principal called police.
According to police, when questioned, Frank confessed they had slept together a number of times, and also claimed she was pregnant with the boy’s twins.
Soon afterwards another student claimed to have slept with her too.
Dressed in a green police-issue top, Frank broke down in Clayton County Court yesterday as she was charged with sexual assault against a person under supervision in a school.
She cried again when a judge ordered she be held without bond.
Her lawyer, Meg Stricker, told Channel 2 News her client is innocent until proven guilty.
Frank is still listed as a teacher on Drew High School’s website, but she told police she was now unemployed. A spokesman for the county’s school district said he couldn’t comment on a personnel issue.
Don’t cry now…..its a little too late.
