Don’t expect to see Lady Gaga in any commercials for Target anytime soon…

According to the The Advocate, last month, Target announced it would be selling a deluxe edition of Lady Gaga’s new Born This Way album, starting May 23rd.  However, a rep for the “Poker Face” singer confirms the two sides “came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership.”

Why, you ask?  Well, apparently gay advocates were concerned, citing Target’s donations to MN Forward, a political action committee that supported anti-gay candidate Tom Emmer in his failed 2010 run for governor of Minnesota.

Gaga told Billboard that her relationship with the retail giant was tied to their proposed “reform,” supporting the gay community and making up for past “mistakes.” When that didn’t happen, she decided to end the deal.

Glad to see morals trump money for once. Good for you Gaga.
