Justin Bieber Talks Sex, Drugs, Partying, Religion and More with V Magazine

“People need to know I’m not a kid anymore,” Justin Bieber declares in his cover story for the latest issue of V Magazine, where the Pop star, who is approaching his 18th birthday this March, talks about the pressure of coming of age in the spotlight.

He continued, “I’m not going to try to conform to what people want me to be, or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol. I want to do it at my own pace.”

“I don’t want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing,” said the teen heartthrob, who is currently in a very public relationship with Selena Gomez. “I’m into love, and maybe I’ll get more into making love when I’m older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody.”

The Biebs recently made headlines when he got a huge tattoo of Jesus’ face on his leg, however, he insists, “I don’t consider myself religious. I haven’t been to church in a long time.”

While Bieber admits that he doesn’t go to church, he says he still has a personal relationship with God.

“I don’t think I’m religious. I am spiritual,” Bieber told the high fashion magazine. “I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I believe that He put me in this position, and that I have to always give Him the glory He deserves for putting me here. But I don’t consider myself religious.

“A lot of people who are religious, I think they get lost. They go to church just to go to church. I’m not trying to disrespect them – you know, whatever works for you. But for me, I focus more on praying and talking to Him. I don’t have to go to church. I haven’t been to church in a long time, but I know I have a relationship with Him. I talk to Him, and that’s all.”

As far as his career and work ethic are concerned, Justin knows that he needs to “buckle down” and get serious now that he’s growing up.

“I’m going to be honest. I’m young and I’m not as disciplined as I need to be,” he said. “If I have a day off, I need to be in the dance studio, but instead I’m hanging out with my friends. But when I’m in my 20s need to buckle down and work as hard as these other people.”

He continued, “Eventually, I want to become the best at what I do. I want to be the best. In the world. I want to be better than anybody that’s ever done it. I don’t want people to think of me as just a teen sensation. I want to transition, and become the greatest.”

Justin knows that will be no easy task though, and there are lots of people that hate him “just because.” But he’s not worried, and is confident that his talent will be enough to eventually win over the haters.

“A lot of people say they hate Justin Bieber who haven’t listened to any of my music,” he admitted. “They just hate me because the hate the idea of me. I’m young, I’m handsome – I don’t mean to sound conceited – but they think I just got here because of that.”

He added, “I feel the more put out, the more people will realize it’s really good music. I’m not worried about the guy fans because they are going to come. It’s not a fluke that I’m here. I’m here for a reason, and I’m here for a lifetime.”

So there you have it, folks. Justin Bieber is going to be around … FOREVER!!!

Your thoughts?

“People need to know I’m not a kid anymore,” – Yes, you are. 18 years old is still very young and you still have A LOT to learn.

“So there you have it, folks. Justin Bieber is going to be around … FOREVER!!!” – Please kill me now.

    Hi justin,
To say people who do not like your music did not listen to it is a load of garbage.
I have heard all of your music many times and knowing music most than more people do I can confirm that it is crap. The good thing is that you have made allot of money selling crap and your not the first and will not be the last. I hope you fade away graciously and know when to quit. I think you are smart enough to do so.

    Happy 18!

  • Zoe

Funny How people say They listen to his music and it’s crap. Then WHY listen to it? lol and if you heard one song and think its crap then all of his music is Crap eh? He will never fade because people will always buy his Music, Crap or no Crap .

  • Char

I just needed to say that I think you’re great and I respect you a whole lot. And if you work at it you WILL be the best because once you give it your all then that’s it. It’s also good to know that you know who all the glory belongs to [ = God ].

  • I beleive justin bieber should not talk about churches because churches were build for people to pray (for there sins) and to contact God usually through words… Also its catholic (youg boys would feel it as Numinous)- a feeling of great presence. But you taking as i would call the “mick,” saying how were lost i mean just cause you didnt mean to disrespect (it still hurts) you will never be michael jackson (and please)!- your the lost child God is not telling you to sing he is saving you from that( douche )…

. You can hate him if you want, but that will never take away his fans. By hating on him, you are making his fans stronger. His fans are why he is there, and we aren’t leaving. I am a belieber all day every day. If you don’t like it, thats your problem. Don’t complain to Justin about it though. We all have different opinions, but I hope that all your moms taught you when you were young that “if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it.” be mature now folks. You can start criticizing him when you sell out the world most famous arena Madison square garden in 22 minutes, (faster than the beatles, etc) when you sing through strep throat, broken legs, when you are selena gomez’s boyfriend, when you have done collaborations with kayne west, usher, band perry, busta rhymes, mariah carrey, jessica jarrell, miley cyrus, rascal flatts, boyz ll men, etc. call me then, and i promise I will listen to you. but until then, good luck getting there! it takes hard work, dedication, and of course, believing in something bigger than yourself. (God) jusitn has contributed to starving, uneducated kids more than you ever will or can in a lifetime. How can you hate that? you dont have to like him, but just get a life and stop hating. Go out, party, make friends…ok? its not that hard. xoxo, Justin’s belieber

I have a generally positive opinion of Justin, but from what I’ve heard his attitude can be a bit haughty XD “I’m handsome?” However, I like his determination and confidence, those are excellent qualities, and enjoy and admire his music as well.

It’s just mean how people are telling Justin to go to Hell. It’s just horrible how people are so mean and don’t even know him. I think Justin is great I mean in everything I learned about him he is a very nice and talented guy. I mean if he was an idiot than he wouldn’t be with someone like Selena Gomez! I love Justin and I know how some people treat him and it’s just very mean. I mean there are people I know that take posters of him and rip them into little pieces and it’s just mean. I’m glad that he’s talking about when he’s 18 he’ll still sing about the same stuff and not about sex and other stuff. So please STOP being so mean to him and Selena. It just makes people feel horrible about them self. Stop being a hater and be kind to God’s creation.

Not going to church is a sin.

as great as it is that he donates a fraction of his money to greater causes, its more important that we look at his personality. The fact that his voice appeals to a select number of the population, albeit a large number, is irrelevant. What is important is how he portraits the life we live in, and how that will change. why is that important? because his music is heard by so many vulnerable, inexperienced fans. teens are the ultimate clay, shaped by their peers and idols. unfortunately, this conceited little bastard is fucking wrecking the next generation. how do we know? the people he attracts. the kids in my school who focus on idols at all are the kids who fail. it is a fact. please, lets all stop paying attention, because believe it or not, you are a child’s idol. somewhere out there is a kid who looks up to you, who believes in you, who trusts you. never forget that.
