Proof of Michael Jackson's vitiligo

The late King of Pop’s memorial was held Tuesday (Jul y) and millions watched as Michael Jackson finally received the sendoff that he deserved. During his speech, Marlon Jackson made a comment that we think was meant more for the media moreso than Michael: “Maybe now, they will leave you alone.”

Unfortunately, since Michael’s death, more speculation has risen about his medical history and the cause of his death. I have had several conversations with various people who refuse to hear the truth about Jackson. Many have continued to remain ignorant to the facts and choose only to listen to their own opinions and assumptions. In an effort to stop these rumors and lies about Michael Jackson so he can finally have the rest he deserves, we are going to offer a detailed explanation and pictures proving that Jackson did not intentionally bleach his skin so that “he could be white” as many people think.

Vitiligo is a disorder that causes depigmentation of the skin and it usually occurs in patches. It occurs when the cells responsible for creating melanin either die or suddenly become unable to function. In 1986, Michael Jackson was diagnosed with both vitiligo and lupis (the latter was responsible for turning his cheeks pink). He admitted to the world for the first time that he had the illness during a special interview with Oprah Winfrey in 1993.

Before this, no one understood why Michael used to wear heavy amounts of makeup during his early concerts, subjecting him to a series of jokes claiming that he wore makeup like a female. In the pictures below, you will see the amount of make up that Jackson used during his concerts (first picture). Now, I have done many performances on stage and acted on film and I know what it’s like to have to wear foundation. That is not normal foundation. And also, in the pictures below, you will see the difference between Michael’s make up and the actual color of his skin. Look closely, and you will see the two very different shades of his skin.

Eventually, Michael, with the help of his dermatologist, went through the process of depigmentation. This is just a simple way to speed up the process. Many have argued that if he really had vitiligo, why was the transition so smooth? Well, as you can see from the pictures above and below, it wasn’t. But with depigmentation, he sped up the illness since it would eventually occur anyway.

Another argument is that he could not have vitiligo until a couple years ago when paparazzi pictures showed him white as a ghost. The only explanation for that is that he is still bleaching his skin, right? Wrong. When you no longer have pigments in your body, the flash of a camera will make your skin look extremely white. That is the case with this picture from the “Victory” tour:

Yet, the picture below is from the same tour but under normal lighting:

See the difference?

Lastly, let us ask ourselves: why would Michael Jackson want to be white? He idoled so many black performers such as James Brown and Diana Ross, he did all the black trends – from the afro to the jerry curls, he sang black music, and his largest audience was the black community. People have tried bleaching their skin. Tyra Banks did a special on it a while ago. There are Africans who try it…the result is NOT good.

Michael Jackson had vitiligo despite what the media reported. It is why he always remained covered from head to toe, even in the heat. Please take a few minutes to look at the pictures below for proof.

We hope that the world can come to terms with the truth about Jackson so that he can rest in peace.

I have a cousin who has vitiligo and it started when she was in high school. She started getting spots on her right hand/arm and it just started spreading from there.

You think that’s why Michael Jackson wore that one glove?

Excellent article. I’m about to Stumble this one, the world needs to know and show this man some damn respect.

@ Michele: Yes, according to actress Cicely Tyson, she was there when the glove was being created. It was designed by someone who she’s worked with before. Michael first started the glove to sort of blend it all together so the white spots would not be too noticeable and harsh against his darker complexion. And I’d have to say he succeeded. No one noticed his vitiligo but everyone noticed the famous glove.

OK. Let’s all accept the fact that Michael Jackson bleached his skin to conceal his problems with vitiligo. That was perfectly reasonable. There are no proven treatments for this disorder which will darken skin, so bleaching was Jackson’s best option. However, none of this explains why Jackson chose to disfigure his face and remove any African-American features. From the neck up, Michael Jackson was a good looking white woman.

Wasn’t it because his father abused him, telling him he had a big nose and All that? He probably didn’t want to look like his father…

I think the great irony is that if that Jackson hadn’t undergone all the plastic surgery, he probably would have grown up to be the homeliest of the men in his family. He also had severe acne, which left terrible scarring on his face. But he went far beyond cutting away any resemblance to his father. He completely restructured his face, including his eyes, eyebrows, nose, cheekbones, mouth and chin. His sister, LaToya, had the same extreme surgery to her nose as well, so you get the feeling that it wasn’t a mistake.

“none of this explains why Jackson chose to disfigure his face and remove any African-American features”

Michael had gotten his nose done as early as the late 70s. This has nothing to do with vitiligo, of course. Also, what exactly are “African American” features?

@JohnR08: The man had self-hate issues there’s no doubt about that. But let’s see how well you fare with your dad telling you how ugly you are when you’re a kid. Stuff like that sticks over time
