Justin Bieber said he was going to Japan “no matter what” … and he did just that last week.

In between sold out concerts, the Pop star attended a reception for Japanese students affected by the March 11th earthquake and tsunami at the U.S. ambassador’s residence last Wednesday afternoon (May 18) in Tokyo, Japan. In an effort to shed a bit of hope to the children, Bieber, who called them an “an inspiration,” told the dozen or so students that “things can get better and things will get better. There are only good things to come.”

Justin has helped raise over $5 million dollars for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that have left nearly 25,000 people dead or missing through a charity CD “Songs for Japan” with other big name artists such as Lady Gaga and Bob Dylan. Justin also recently shared that a portion of the revenue generated from his concerts in Japan will be donated to the country’s relief efforts.
