To prevent spammers from plaguing the comments section, comment moderation on Gossip On This is enabled. We don’t moderate commenters for disagreeing with the opinions of blog authors, but if your comment includes more than 2 links, then the system automatically holds your comment for moderation.
There are a few other factors that go into consideration when our system automatically puts your comment in the moderation queue, but having more than 2 links is the big one, and occurs most often. Our system may also falsely identify you as a bot or spammer if you’re using a proxy.
Usually our editors spot comments in the moderation queue pretty quickly, so if you were directed to this page via a message that read something like: “NOTE: YOUR COMMENT HAS AUTOMATICALLY BEEN HELD FOR MODERATION AND WILL BE APPROVED SHORTLY,” then don’t worry … we’ll spot it and have it up pretty quickly!
