Steve Harvey has responded to his ex wife Mary’s claims that he cheated on her for over a decade, abandoned her, left her broke, and took their son away from her after their marriage ended. The actor/comedian took to his radio show and gave his side of the story, denouncing his ex wife’s claims, adding that the truth will eventually come to light.
“My father always taught me, he’d say, ‘Son, there’s three sides to every story—there’s their side, your side and the truth,'” Harvey said on his nationally syndicated radio show. I know the truth,” Harvey continued. “My son is coming into the room crying. And that’s what hurts me, why you would do this. And I don’t even understand the purpose. I mean, I got you’re mad, but [she’s talking about] 12 years ago. That’s what we’re doin’ now?”
“The truth’s gonna come out,” he said. “Because once you go public, you allow people to start asking questions…I’m just more concerned about my son, who I happen to have total custody of. He doesn’t deserve the questions.”
Harvey says he’s dealt with situations similar to this before, but he wants to deal with them the right way this time around.
“I’ve been famous a long time,” the Original Kings of Comedy star added. “I’ve dealt with this all before…But things will be dealt with in the proper fashion this time.”
Steve and Mary have a 13-year-old son together, and Mary accused Steve of turning their son against her when they divorced 2005. Steve, however, says he has the exact opposite, and teaches their son to respect his mother and women in general.
“A lot of it’s lies,” Harvey also said. But “I don’t want nobody to do nothing. Here’s my job as a father to my son: I have taught him to just be respectful of his mother and women overall. What he can’t do is see me making particular accusations and rants…and I’m not going to. It is still his mother and I’m his father, and it’s my job to raise him right,” he said. (Source)
This whole thing has gotten out of control! She definitely had no business bringing the kid into the situation. That was a pretty low blow. But who do you believe? Steve …. or his scorned ex wife Mary?
