The King of all that is Pop, Michael Jackson, returns with Thriller 25, Thriller – 25th Anniversary Edition is a special 25th anniversary edition of the album Thriller by Michael Jackson. Thriller, released in 1982, was and still is the world’s best selling album to date. Michael Jackson not only started a trend but a phenomenon, influencing many artists for over a decade. If there were no Michael Jackson, there would be no Usher, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Sterling Simms, the list goes on and on. Michael Jackson will always be relevant in all that is pop, this is apparent, no if’s, and’s, or but’s about that.
You know, when I think about it too, I have always been more of a MJ lover than Prince (no disrespect, none, sir). Mike just has that charisma and stage presence about him, and yes I know your going to say, “but he doesn’t play an instrument!” FOOL! His body is an instrument! Just imagine Michael Jackson on stage with an “instrument,” it would be so, beneath him.
Anyway, I digress (somewhat, I lost myself). Oh! With this special edition of Thriller you can look forward to brand new material, including five remixes of original material featuring Akon, Fergie, Kanye West, and producer will.i.am ftw! Now, I have to admit, some of these songs they shouldn’t have messed with just for the fact of definitiveness. BUT I do love most of will.i.am’s work (“P.Y.T.” and “The Girl is Mine”) and Akon’s (“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'”) mixes.
