ABC has announced the 12 celebrities that will be joining the first ever “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” edition cast. And here’s who made the cut:
Emmitt Smith, Pamela Anderson, Kirstie Alley, Bristol Palin, Drew Lachey, Joey Fatone, Kelly Monaco, Shawn Johnson, Gilles Marini, Melissa Rycroft, Helio Castroneves and Apolo Ohno.
Also, for the first time in DWTS history, fans will vote for the 13th celebrity who will join the cast as the “Viewers’ Choice All Star.” The three celebrities vying to fill the coveted spot are Sabrina Bryan, Kyle Massey and Carson Kressley.
According to ABC’s press release, fans can vote for their favorite “Viewers’ Choice All Star” at ABC.com/DancingwiththeStars starting today (Fri Jul 27) through Friday, August 24th. Once voting has closed, the final cast member will be announced on “Good Morning America” on Monday, August 27th.
“We’ve got what we think is a great cast of popular favorites,” ABC president Paul Lee told reporters Thursday (Jul 26) at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, where the lineup was announced.
“Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” marks the first time previous contestants will return for another chance at winning the coveted mirror ball trophy.
From former champions to fan favorites, including a celebrity voted in by fans, the stars will return to the dance floor, and will pair up with some of the world’s most decorated professional ballroom dancers for what ABC considers “the most unforgettable season yet.”
ABC’s very first “Dancing with the Stars” All-Star season premieres September 25th.
