After splitting with RCA Records earlier this year, Jay-Z has reportedly taken Tinashe under his wing.
According to producer Hitamaka, Tinashe has signed with Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s management company. Hitmaka shared the news with HipHop-N-More during a recent interview.
“I actually spoke to her just recently. She left RCA Records; I believe she’s managed by Roc Nation now.”
Hitmaka worked with Tinashe last year and produced her unreleased album, Nashe. Though it produced a few singles, the project was ultimately shelved.
“She reached out to me about the record,” Hitmaka revealed to HipHop-N-More. He hopes the music will be released soon, now that she’s with Roc Nation.
“It was a lot of fun doing that because we really went into the studio for a week and banged out like 15 records that are just amazing,” the producer added. “I’m excited for everybody to hear the records.”
Tinashe—who released her debut album in 2014—confirmed that she had left RCA back in February because she didn’t feel like the label supported her.
“They low-key always sabotaged my real art shit. disappointing, but it made me stronger,” she wrote on Twitter during a Q&A with fans.
She also confirmed she split with her longtime manager Mike Nazzaro during the same Twitter session.
Tinashe, herself, has not confirmed the move to Roc Nation. However, earlier this week, she did tweet she expected only “good vibes” for the rest of 2019.
GOOD VIBES ONLY for the rest of 2019!! ???? …. there I said it.
