In a recent radio interview, Kanye West clarified his comments about being a genius and surrounding himself with other creatives he finds equally as genius.
The interview took place hours before he popped the question to Kim Kardashian. This is the part where I tell you not to say that Kim Kardashian is nobody’s genius. Leave her be. That’s that man’s future wife now.
Anywho, here’s what Kanye said:
“My creative genius is creating around geniuses. Using creative geniuses to express, getting out of their way. If someone is more talented than me at stage design, at art direction, at playing the guitar, at production, at rapping, at anything that it is, I will step out of their way. I’ll ask as many questions as possible. I’ll send Drake 10 tracks, and ask him to write every one of those choruses.”
Much, much better. Also, very nice compliment to Drake, who does write very catchy hooks.
