Drake was a no-show at this year’s BET Awards, despite him nabbing at least a dozen nominations and being the recipient of the Viewer’s Choice Award and the award for Best Collaboration (for A$AP Rocky’s “F**kin Problem”).
The rumor leading up to the show (thanks, Twitter) was that Drake did in fact plan to attend the show, but decided to skip out at the last minute because he wanted to avoid running into Chris Brown. But Drake took to Twitter after the show to quell the rumors and thank fans for his award.
Thank you to BET and to the fans for voting! I’m home finishing the album and spending time w/ family before we begin our journey Sept 17.
