We all know Mariah Carey as the beautiful and stylish diva in all her glory, but in a newly released pic of the 43-year-old singer, we are definitely not getting the usual Mariah.
In this new photo from Carey’s upcoming film The Butler, Carey gets a dramatic make-under as she plays a field slave named Hattie Pearl.
The Butler also stars Terrence Howard, Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey and Jane Fonda and is directed by Lee Daniels, who directed 2009’s Precious.
Like Precious, The Butler is already getting major Oscar buzz and is the second movie where Carey had to ditch her diva ways for her role. In Precious, Carey played Ms. Weiss, a homely-looking social worker assigned to Precious.
Precious was the first film where Carey really showed off her acting chops as fans will remember the dramatic end scene between her and Mo’nique, who played Precious’ mom.
