Kanye West is having another tantrum. In other news, water is wet, and the sky is blue.
The temperamental rapper and soon-to-be baby daddy stormed the airways recently when he found out that he was only #7 on MTV’s Hottest MCs’ list.
Ye, who has been dodging the press since his meltdown with Matt Lauer on the “Today Show” in 2011, broke his “no press” rule and reached out to the Angie Martinez Show to speak on his feelings about the Hottest MCs list, according to the interview that our friends over at Rap-Up transcribed.
#7 bothers me … I don’t think it’s them really going bar for bar. I said, “Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team.” Ain’t no bar, ain’t no bar in the entire past 12 months that’s hotter than that bar. That’s one bar! I come from this battle rap, that’s how I grew up in Chicago.
Wait. Did this fool really just swear that his cheap, lazy, punchline about having another man do his dirty work was the bar of the year? No. It was more like “Bitch-ass moment of 2012.”
How you gonna get in a beef with Kris Humphries over his wife? And how are you gonna knock up a bitch who just a few months ago was on TV and in magazines talking about how head over heels in love she was with her husband? Forget turning that ho into housewife, she’s transitioned straight into a troll.
Seriously though, Cruel Summer sucked ass and Kanye is lucky MTV even put him at #7.
But Ye wasn’t done complaining there. He decided to make his next attack on the list a bit more personal. Specifically, he went after industry vet Sway Calloway — who works for MTV.
I couldn’t believe it. I gave [MTV News reporter] Sway his first TV. He came over to my crib in Newark, NJ. I was living in Newark doing beats for Jay and Beans and all them and I was getting a new TV and I gave Sway his first TV. And really I didn’t really wanna even like call to talk about the #7 list, I just wanna tell everybody that I gave Sway his first TV. And he need to remember that.
What? Ok, how does Ye know that he gave Sway his first TV ever? Sway must’ve been living deep inside his headwrap if he never owned a television set until Kanye West stepped into his life.
But even if Ye did get Sway his first TV: SO WHAT? That means the man is supposed to give you an undeserved edge on the Hottest MCs list for life?
If Kanye wants to be a jerk and complain about the state of awards shows, fine. At least you can respect a man who’s passionate about rewarding quality music. But it’s an entirely different thing to then turn around say that people should throw accolades your way because of favors you did for them in the past.
If this is what Kanye’s brain is like from hanging around the Kardashian clan, he might be better off picking up a coke habit.
