Kim Kardashian‘s boyfriend is best friends with Beyonce‘s husband, so naturally, Beyonce and Kim Kardashians are BFFs too, right?
Wrong. At least that’s what “sources” are saying.
Beyonce and Kim both attended the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia this past Labor Day weekend to support their men, and a source backstage told the New York Daily News:
“Kim and Beyonce barely spoke to each other. They were on opposite sides of the stage. Beyonce didn’t even acknowledge she was there until the concert was almost over … and Kim didn’t make any efforts to go speak to Beyonce either.”
The women were forced to eventually make “small talk” backstage in the dressing room, but Kim was noticeably uncomfortable. “She clung onto Kanye the entire time and didn’t say much,” said another source.
If rumors are to be believed, Kim has been trying to get Beyonce to be her best friend ever since she started dating Kanye West almost six months ago.
Back in May, a source told the Daily News that Kim was dying to be Beyonce’s BFF. “Kim wants to travel everywhere with Kanye, but she’s also trying to do whatever she can to get close to Beyonce,” the source said. “So, if Bey and Jay are going, she’s going.”
A month later, in June, rumors of a riff between the two ladies popped up saying that Beyonce and Jay-Z wanted nothing to do with the “Kimye” romance.
But Kim was spotted backstage at one of Beyonce’s Atlantic City Revel Resort concerts, and a rep for the reality star denied that a Beyonce-Kardashian beef even existed, telling RumorFix at the time, “This story is not true, Beyonce even invited Kim to her Atlantic City concert. They are great friends … this story is just ridiculous.”
Further proving that there was no beef between them, Beyonce and Kim were spotted togeher in the crowd of Kanye and Jay-Z’s “Watch the Throne” concert in the UK later that month, and fans posted pictures of the pair all over Twitter.
And in July, at the 2012 BET Awards, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kanye and Kim all sat together in the front row, proving, once again, that there’s no bad blood between the couples.
When asked whether or not the latest crop of “Beyonce Hates Kim Kardashian” rumors are true, a source close to Kimye told RumorFix, “Of course it’s not true. They have no reason to not get along and actually get along very well!”
