What’s worse than a woman having sex with her neighbor while her boyfriend is out of town? Leaving her three small children home alone so long that they leave the house and walk across a busy four-lane highway at 5 in the morning, that’s what.
A mother faces child neglect charges after her children were found crossing a major road alone near their home.
Deputies say a witness saw the children — ages 4, 3, and 10 months old — walking across the southbound lanes of Massachusetts Avenue, a four-lane road, around 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
The 4-year-old was holding the 10-month-old at the time, whose diaper was full of urine. The witness grabbed the children, saving them from potential harm, and called police.
When deputies arrested their mother, 24-year-old Crystal Rusaw, she told them she left the children to go to a neighbor’s for sex and fell asleep.
Police say the children were left alone for about four hours…
