The 2011 VMAs just turned into a must-see event … because MTV has confirmed that Beyonce will be performing!

“We are thrilled to have Beyonce return to her rightful musical home at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards,” Amy Doyle, executive producer of the 2011 VMAs said in a statement. “Her performances at the VMAs are legendary — leaving everyone breathless and talking for days. We can’t wait to see her set the stage on fire once again!”

Beyonce, who is up for 3 awards this year, joins a growing list of A-list performers for the event, including opener Lady Gaga, Adele, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Pitbull, Ne-Yo and more, while newcomer Jessie J will serve as a house performer.

Beyonce’s last showing at the VMAs was 2 years ago when she brought the house down with an exciting rendition of her hit song “Single Ladies.”

Presenters for this year’s VMAs include Selena Gomez, Taylor Lautner, Kim Kardashian, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Zoe Saldana, Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Rick Ross and many more.

The 2011 Video Music Awards will air live from the Nokia Theater in L.A. this coming Sunday (Aug 28) at 9 pm.
