Soulja Boy may have gotten carried away with his 21st birthday celebrations when admitting to buying himself a $55 million G5 Jet.

Earlier in the week, TMZ posted a story stating that the rapper bought himself the lavish gift:

We spoke with Soulja, a member of his management team named Shai Storm and Soulja’s assistant — who all verified Soulja dropped the cash on the private jet as a 21st birthday gift to himself.

However, Greg Miller, an alleged spokesperson for the “Crank That” rapper has denied the reports stating that they are both “untrue and elaborate.” Could it be to do with the fact that Soulja owes nearly $30,000 in back taxes maybe?

Radar Online reports:

The 21-year-old, whose real name is DeAndre Way, has been celebrating his birthday in style, but meanwhile the tax man has been looking for him. According to official documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the State of California filed a $26,805 tax lien against the singer on March 24, 2011. He also owed the State of Mississippi $3,571 in back taxes but he paid the full amount just last week on July 22, 2011.In other unfortunate news, his home in Georgia was foreclosed on last year, according to the Detroit News Tax Watchdog blog.

You would think that after being ranked #18 on the 2010 Forbes list for Hip Hop’s Top Earners he would have the cash to pay the tax bill right?!?

Guess not…
