Philadelphia-based rapper Cassidy was arrested this weekend in New Jersey on a probation violation, but is also a suspect in a murder case.
Cassidy, born Barry Reese, was taken into custody with incident on Saturday in Hackensack on a warrant issued for Philadelphia police, says NorthJersey.com.
The warrant was for violating probation, Hackensack police said.
In 2006, Cassidy was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in a West Oak Lane shooting case, and he was sentenced to 11 and a half to 23 months in jail.
It was unclear why police felt Cassidy violated his probation.
