Were we the only ones who missed Mo’Nique during Sunday night’s Academy Awards?
Although some reports are claiming the Oscar winner “refused” to be a presenter at this year’s show because of the lack of “color” in the list of nominated actors and actresses, her manager and husband Sidney Hicks told USA TODAY she didn’t pull a Fantasia.
Apparently, Mo’Nique made herself available to announce the nominations because she knew she would miss the awards show due to shooting new episodes of her BET talk show. Sidney commented:
“This was her way of giving respect to the Academy and to her show. Either way her position is you can’t please everyone all of the time, and whatever scrutiny she receives she accepts it humbly.” (Source)
