A semi-tractor trailer overturned onto a vehicle on state Road 47 in Waveland Indiana. Inside the crushed vehicle were three people on route to a funeral. Two of those killed were Amber Mills’ step-children and a boyfriend. Amber Mills was being laid to rest that same day. Grieving over the loss of his wife to lung cancer, Chester Mills now has to prepare for the burial of his two children.

Pastor Rodney Coffman is doing his best to comfort Chester Lee Mills Sr. “Members of the funeral party were coming to the funeral we were just getting ready to being at 10:30 am.” The ice and snow covered roads were considered cause for the accident. Thirty minutes before Mills was to bury his wife, he received the phone call that would bring the rest of his world crashing down.

The identity of the three accident victims has not yet been released. The Pastor continued with the burial service and the luncheon that followed. He prayed for the victims, Amber and Chester Mills at the Action Church. “There are not enough words to describe the grief this man has at this time. All I can think of is in the words of Job how he endured. He would never curse God. Job lost all his family and this man is experiencing something so close to that.” The Pastor told the congregation.

The driver of the semi is a local man from the Waveland area. His identity has not been released. He works with his father at Recycled Goods trucking. The semi landed on top of the victim’s car in a ravine by the side of the road. The victims were trapped in the car for hours. There was no word on the driver’s condition.
