After two months of sitting on store shelves (along with being legally available for download online), Kanye West‘s fifth consecutive album has officially been certified platinum!
The rapper’s latest project My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy received the certification after it was confirmed that the LP had shipped at least 1 million units since its November 2010 release in the U.S. The 4 albums that came before “Twisted Fantasy” are all platinum-certified as well.
Kanye is currently working on his sixth studio album, a joint-project with fellow Hip-Hop titan Jay-Z titled Watch the Throne, due for release in March 2011. MBDTF currently sits at the 7th spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with a little over 33,000 copies sold this week.
