Jay-Z has announced that rapper Jay Electronica is the latest artist to join his Roc Nation music label. The announcement was made last night (Fri. Nov 12) at a secret event (also attended by Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce and R&B singer Omarion), held at The Box in New York City.
“It’s not really a surprise of this next wizard we are about to introduce. We’ve been watching this wizard do his thing, you guys have supported him in a major way and he goes by the name of Jay Electronica. He’s an official Roc Nation Signee. Make some noise!!!” Jay-Z said at the event.
Jay Electronica is best known for his 2009 track “Exhibit C,” and also has a child with R&B singer Erykah Badu. Electronica joins Willow Smith, Rihanna, Alexis Jordan and Sean Garrett on Jay-Z’s Roc Nation imprint.
