Katy Perry and Russell Brand are set to get married next Saturday (Oct 23), and we hear they’re going for a traditional Indian wedding theme, insiders say. The Pop singer and her fiance have reportedly rented luxury tents in the Rajasthan exotic desert resort of “Aman-i-Khas,” where they (along with their guests) will be staying for the 6-day event. All 80+ guests (including Katy’s BFF Rihanna) will be flown out via private jet.
According to Celebrity-Gossip.net, prior to the ceremony, Katy will have her hands decorated with henna tattoos before she heads to the Jaipur for the wedding. An insider said:
“The procession will start at the gate of the hotel, with the bridegroom sitting on a beautifully decorated horse that is escorted by camels and elephants. Folk dancers then welcome the couple with a traditional routine, fireworks and a special buggi (horse-driven cart) ushering them into the main garden for the wedding.”
Russell Brand proposed to Katy Perry in India during a trip over New Year’s last winter after the couple had only been dating for a few months. They first met in 2008 on the set of Russell’s film “Get Him to the Greek” (Katy made a cameo in the movie that got cut), but didn’t start dating until they saw each other again a year later at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, which Brand hosted.
So it was love at SECOND sight! (LOL)
