We all know that Kelis and Nas‘ divorce was recently made final and there was a lot of chatter about Nas being late on child support payments, which typically pisses most mothers off and put them in pit-bull mode. Well, Kelis is taking the high road now. Instead of bad mouthing Nas in the press, she has decided to refrain from doing so for the sake of their child. Here’s what Kelis told The Associated Press:
“My kid is the center of my world. I don’t leave him ever. I take him with me everywhere. I was married. It didn’t work out. The most amazing thing came out of it. I am good with that. (Knight) will never read anywhere that I said anything negative about his father. It doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not. Because at the end of the day he needs to know he did come from love.”
We commend Kelis for being mature about this. She could have easily used an attack on Nas as a way to stay in the media and raise relevancy for herself and her new album. But she didn’t. Good girl!
