Our friends over at Straight from the A ran into Tyler Perry over the weekend in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Essence Music Festival and talked with the writer/director briefly about what’s really going on with the whole Boondocks situation. And while he chose to speak off the record, Perry did note that the racy Boondocks episode that portrayed him in a negative light didn’t faze him one bit! He also personally cleared up allegations that he’s suing the show’s creator and fired staff members over the episode.

“Just like the Spike Lee situation, I feel that ‘no response’ is the best response. I’m just gonna leave it at that…

But I will tell you this… there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that I’m suing The Boondocks. Those are all lies. I’m not suing anybody over that. And I haven’t fired anyone because of that show either. I don’t know where all that came from.”

Well, we guess that clears everything up somewhat! Though it’s good to know that Tyler has a great sense of humor and didn’t let this get to him at all.
