A special congrats goes out to actress turned late night TV talk show host Mo’Nique for winning Best Performance by an Actress in a supporting role in a Motion Picture at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. There has been all kinds of chatter about Mo’Nique’s performance in the film “Precious” for weeks and we are happy to see her get some acclaim for an outstanding performance.
Let’s keep it real! Mo played the heck out of that role!
Mo’Nique gave an emotional acceptance speech in her long, gold, strapless gown and thanked her hubby Sidney Hicks and her co-star Gabby Sidibe before dedicating her award to victims of sexual abuse:
“I celebrate this award with all the Preciouses, with all the Marys — I celebrate this award with every person that’s ever been touched,” she said. “It’s now time to tell. And it’s okay.”
