New York Jets safety Kerry Rhodes‘ New Jersey townhouse are at the center of a police investigation after a woman claimed she was raped there by two men this past weekend. Fortunately for Rhodes though, he is not a suspect in the case, according to Morris County prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi.
“Mr. Rhodes is not the target of any criminal investigation. Rumors and media reports to the contrary are untrue.”
The NY Post reported Monday that the woman, a Canadian tourist, said she met Rhodes and another man at a Manhattan nightclub before she was allegedly taken to Kerry Rhodes’ townhouse in Morristown, New Jersey. Rhodes himself issued a statement Monday through a team spokeman.
“I briefly talked with police on Saturday regarding an incident that allegedly took place at my home,” Rhodes said. “The police confirmed to me that I am not the subject of this allegation.”
The New York Jets themselves also released a statement Monday night reiterating that Rhodes is most definitely NOT a target in the investigation. His only connection, apparently, is owning the home where the alleged incident took place.
