R. Kelly may have escaped the law in June 2008 when he was found not guilt on 14 counts of child pornography, but apparently, escaping a bill from his private investigator will be a bit more difficult. According to recent reports, a private investigator, who worked for the singer beginning in 2001, claims to have “obtained and/or recovered certain tapes that were said to incriminate R. Kelly” and is saying that the Chicago native owes him at least $300,000 (+ interest).
R. Kelly is being sued by a private investigator who claims the singer stiffed him on a $300,000 bill. According to a lawsuit filed last week in Missouri federal court, Charles Freeman claims he was hired during Kelly’s trial to “obtain and/or recover certain tapes that were said to incriminate” R. Kelly. Freeman said he did the job, but never got paid. He’s suing for damages plus interests and costs.
