“It’s hard to have kids in this world,” she told the British version of OK! Magazine. “I don’t think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven’t thought about it. I never wanted to feel violated and I know that’s a kind of weird thing to say, but that’s how I am.

For now I enjoy my dog Jack’s company. It’s definitely because of childhood traumatic stuff. The whole not wanting to have a baby as a baby. My parents divorced when I was young and I’m not saying it was unstable but it’s not ideal either.”

Here’s the second video premiere of Ashanti’s new video, “The Way That I Love You,” off of her new album, “The Declaration,” which will be hitting stores soon. We posted the video a few weeks ago, but apparently that wasn’t the final edit. This is the final label-endorsed cut of the video.

The video seems a little suspenseful. With it first beginning with a woman committing suicide, drowning herself in a bathtub. Next the the video chronicles the woman and man (a couple I assume) hanging out, taking pictures, in love etc. The woman finds the man’s sidekick on the nightstand evidently and comes to find he’s cheating on her; so she murders him and then herself (reflecting back to the drowning-in-a-bathtub). Then it shows the final scene, with the woman, as if non of this ever happen or as if it was first degree murder … He walks in the door and she just tosses the sidekick at him and leaves. Did I spoil it for you? … Opps! I did it again, all well.

Ashanti’s official website just revealed that “The Way I Love You” will be the first single to Ashanti’s forthcoming album and they also revealed the album cover seen above.

I got emails threatening to post this song! OK, I’m exaggerating … One reader was really anxious to hear the high quality though. They even suggested that I contact Ashanti’s label immediately for them to send me this song (gave me the contact information and everything). Sadly I had my doubts from that low quality version, which the individual also included in the email for me. Foolish me, I love this song, the passionate lyrics, Ashanti’s belting vocals, the drowning melodies — love it! A definite step-up from “Hey Baby”. Ashanti’s bringing the heat this time!
