Beyonce is back!
The singer kicked off her four-night stay at the Revel Resort in Atlantic City Friday night (May 25), her first concert performance since last year’s “4 Intimate Nights with Beyonce” at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom, and her first time on stage since giving birth to Blue Ivy in January.
“I gotta say … it feels so good to be back home on stage,” Beyonce told the crowd of 5,500 fans who packed into the $2.5 billion resort.
Following an opening set from R&B newcomer Luke James, Beyonce took the stage for over two hours and performed a ton of her hits, plus a cover of Lauryn Hill‘s “Ex Factor” and a cover of Whitney Houston‘s “I Will Always Love You” in tribute to the late R&B icon.
Among those in attendance for Beyonce’s comeback concert were her proud father (and former manager) Mathew Knowles, her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, supermodel Selita Ebanks, and of course, her husband Jay-Z, who, after the show, proudly tweeted:
“I’m gonna say this and then I’m gonna end mine.” BEYONCE is the best performer in the world. Period.
